My first published book review appears in the current issue of the Scottish Bulletin of Evangelical Theology (it's a SBET short review). It's a review of Tom Stuckey's book, Beyond the Box - Mission Challenges from John's Gospel. At the time of the book being published (and the review being written), Stuckey was President of the Methodist Conference. The book's premise is that John's Gospel was written as an alternative to the synoptics; a gospel rejecting over-structured authoritarianism in the church and exhorting a return to what Jesus really stood for. If you go for that, you'll probably get on better with the book than I did.
